Tom Karnes is an associate in Ater Wynne’s Business Department, where he focuses his practice on tax matters. Tom also regularly assists clients regarding global trade and general business issues.
Tom served as a law clerk for the Oregon Department of Justice’s Trial Division while he was in law school, working in their Employment and Torts Group. He also clerked at the Lewis and Clark Low-Income Taxpayer’s Clinic. In addition, Tom served as a member, and then as Editor of Submissions for the Lewis and Clark Law Review. He was selected by Lewis and Clark business law faculty to be a Business Law Roundtable Scholar, was on the Dean’s List for all six semesters, and received an entering student Tax Law Scholarship.
