Stacey E. Mark
Partner
Stacey Mark chairs both the Labor and Employment Group and the Sustainable Practice Advisory Group. She focuses her practice on developing strategies that enable employers to meet their legal obligations in ways that promote their overall business objectives. Stacey draws on her extensive experience in employer counseling and litigation and her commitment to sustainability to help clients formulate policies to attract and retain the best employees, increase worker satisfaction and productivity, comply with their legal obligations, and minimize risks associated with litigation.

In addition to her work as an advisor, Stacey litigates employment-related claims in state and federal courts, administrative agencies and arbitration tribunals. These cases typically involve disability, sex and age discrimination, unlawful harassment, wrongful termination, contract disputes, wage and hour issues, and the enforcement of confidentiality and non-competition agreements. Stacey has also successfully aided employers in opposing union organizing efforts.

She is the Oregon editor for HR Specialist, an Oregon employment writer for Business Management Daily magazine and a regular contributor to the Northwest Business Litigation Blog. Stacey is a frequent speaker on a wide variety of employment issues, including discrimination and harassment, wage and hour laws, equity based compensation, protection of proprietary rights, state and federal leave laws, policy development, and sustainable employment practices.  Stacey was listed as an Oregon Super Lawyer in 2007 and 2008 by Washington Law and Politics.

Stacey is very involved in Ater Wynne’s core commitment to sustainability. In addition to her work on these issues internally, she helps clients find solutions that explore sustainable development options and incorporate sustainability concepts into their overall business plans. Stacey is also an artist who shows her work at a local gallery. She has been featured for her talents as a metalsmith/lawyer in The Oregon State Bar Bulletin. She also designs furniture and interiors.
