| Portland office moves to the "Pearl" |
 |
Ater Wynne LLP is moving its Portland headquarters to the top floors of the Pearl District’s new Lovejoy Building, effective December 15, 2008. The Lovejoy Building is located between NW 13th and 14th Avenues and Lovejoy and Marshall Streets. Ater Wynne’s interest in sustainable practices and changing work habits played a key role in the site selection. Firm partners wanted a location that is easily accessible for clients, attorneys and staff by foot, bicycle, and mass transit (the Portland Streetcar stops at the Lovejoy’s doorstep). The new building’s eco roof and expected LEED Certification were also attractive. “The way we and our clients work today is different from how we worked 25 years ago,” said Jonathan Ater, senior partner and chair of Ater Wynne. “We work in collaborative teams, meeting in person and by e-mail, phone and the internet. The new space allowed us to create a light, open floor plan that promotes communication and collaboration among people when they’re in the office. We can work much more efficiently and leave a smaller footprint." “The new location puts us at the hub of the entrepreneurial Pearl District, an attractive environment for many of our clients, and the space itself allows us to work well together as a team,” said Michael Shackelford, managing partner of Ater Wynne.
Ater Wynne also has offices in Seattle, Menlo Park and Salt Lake City. Ater Wynne attorneys provide strategically focused legal advice in business, corporate, securities, IP, energy, environmental, natural resources, intellectual property, employment, Indian, wealth preservation, real estate, healthcare, telecommunications and creditors’ rights law.
