Ater Wynne has substantial experience as counsel to both public and private partners in public/private ventures. Our understanding of the special nature and legal problems of public/private ventures enables us to assist clients with project financing, construction, and regulatory and political issues.
In a creative public/private venture involving the City of Portland, Tri-Met and the Port of Portland to extend Portland's light rail system, Ater Wynne represented Bechtel Enterprises Inc. in the development and planning of the $125 million Portland airport light rail project and the 120 acre $400 million real estate development project called Cascade Station.
We have represented several Alaska electric utilities in the public/private development of electric generating facilities (coal and hydroelectric), as well as transmission facilities. We were selected by the State of Washington to advise it in the formulation and implementation of six pilot transportation projects. We represent the private developer of a $200 million expansion of the Washington State Trade and Convention Center. We worked with a polysilicon manufacturer which revitalized southwestern Montana by locating its $400 million manufacturing plant in Butte.
