Ater Wynne is known for innovative thinking. We carry on a tradition of outstanding service to our clients and communities, which traces back to C.E.S. Wood (1852-1944), the first biographer of Chief Joseph, and one of Portland’s most influential citizens in the early years of the 20th Century. Today, the firm lives by Wood’s words, memorialized on Portland’s Skidmore Fountain: “Good citizens are the riches of a city.”
Annual March Madness BBQ
The firm kicked off its annual March Madness BBQ in style! Attorneys and staff enjoyed watching their favorites teams battle it out, while kicking back to some hot dogs, hamburgers and veggie burgers. Everyone crosses their fingers that their bracket will win!
Firm Martini Contest
Ater Wynne's Martini Contest is the "A" list of all firm social gatherings. Each year, attorneys and staff get together to form teams. Each team is responsible for establishing a team name, the decor for their martini booth and a unique martini mix. Judges are chosen, the taste testing begins and each team challenges each other to win a cherished prize. The 2014 Judges Choice Award went to team "Paw-Tini" and the People's Choice Award went to "A Sip In The Garden."
Tour de Cure: American Diabetes Association
Ater Wynne LLP and Mackay Sposito teamed up to ride in the 2014 Tour de Cure which was held on July 26, 2014. Together we were able to raise $9660.00 for the ADA! Overall this was a great team building event that gave us a unique opportunity to partner with a significant client, while raising money for a worthy cause.
About: Tour de Cure is more than just a cycling event. It's a life-changing event. A day full of fun and excitement where riders of all levels join forces in the fight to Stop Diabetes® and raise critical funds for diabetes research, education and advocacy in support of the American Diabetes Association.
Client Reception: Boyd's Coffee Company
On June 27, 2013 we hosted our client, Boyd's Coffee Company for a client reception. The theme of the evening was "Success is a Team Sport." We brought together the management team of Boyd's Coffee and also included all of the key people that are part of Boyd's network of outside professionals. The event included a cupping session from Boyd's Senior Roastmaster and an inside look into Boyd's new branding. The evening was a huge success!

Community Involvement: SMART
Ater Wynne helped create the Oregon Children’s Foundation, the organization that developed the SMART (Start Making a Reader Today) reading program in 1992, and we continue to provide countless hours of General Counsel services to them. We also encourage our staff to become involved in volunteering with SMART. Staff can count on the firm to donate an hour of their paid work time to participate in the program as well as travel time and any parking expenses.
